Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
30% Research Activities: Conduct experiments for research projects. Carry out molecular laboratory experiments and conduct analysis of ddpcr and other data and interpret results. Works with the Principal Investigator and laboratory supervisory to carry out the activities of a high-complexity molecular laboratory focused on development and validation of ctDNA-based assays.
20% Performs specialized molecular examinations and procedures for the development, optimization, and validation of advanced assays for low-frequency variant detection.
10% Documents all research activities in approved laboratory notebooks (ELN) and updates data analyses as needed. Follows IRB, human subjects, ACUC, and other State, Institutional and Federal regulatory protocols, as needed. Ensures laboratory activities are conducted in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements and accepted scientific standards.
10% Generate reports as needed for the evaluation of project progress and performance.
10% Develops and implements technical and administrative policies, procedures, and protocols to support laboratory scalability, reproducibility, and quality.
10% Purchasing and Inventory Management : Assist laboratory supervisor in managing research inventory, ordering, and stocking of supplies and reagents.
10% Special Projects and Consultation: Prepares reports to advise principal investigators on possible research projects. Independently reads and designs potential experiments for consideration. Provides technical expertise to investigators and collaborators regarding future project design, feasibility, and implementation.

Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in a health-related field and one year journey-level work experience in the specialty area; or an associate degree or equivalent training in a health-related field and two years advanced work experience in the specialty area. A master's degree in a health-related field and six months entry-level experience may be substituted for the requirements stated above. Previous technical supervisory work experience is required for supervisory positions.
