Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
The Air Defense team builds robots that find other robots and knock them out of the sky. At a time when air superiority can no longer be taken for granted, the Air Defense team provides mission-critical capabilities to warfighters. From detection to tracking, identification, deterrence, and defeat, our family of networked sensors and effectors enables our customers to rapidly close the kill chain against a broad range of uncrewed aerial system (UAS) threats.
The Counter-Intrusion business line works on products that enable operators to protect their people and assets from threats on land and sea. We are deployed in every major global operating theater and support a diversity of mission sets across both U.S. Government and allied partners.
Sentry is the primary product focus of this role and it is fielded across both business lines. The Sentry platform integrates robotics, autonomy, hardware, and software to deliver mission-critical capabilities in defense and security, with a rapidly growing fleet and new variants in development. Product Operations is the team that keeps that fleet healthy once it leaves the factory, working across product, engineering, deployment operations, logistics, and sustainment to turn what happens in the field into actionable improvements.
As a Product Operations Engineer supporting Air Defense and Counter Intrusion, you will be the architect behind how we observe, maintain, and evolve the deployed Sentry fleet. Where others respond to incidents, you build the systems, queries, and processes that enable prevention. You will develop a deep product understanding, serving as a function SME for all things Sentry. You will work with product engineering partners to design, deploy, and improve a system that supports RCCA cycle execution and delivers actionable product improvement signal, directly impacting the design of next generation hardware and software. You will develop and deploy uptime reporting and observability tooling to measure and facilitate capability availability for customers. You will manage and democratize the Sentry knowledge base for field operations functions and support the proliferation of self service resources.
You should bring strong technical depth in robotics engineering, experience leading iterative design across multiple teams, a systems approach to problem solving, and a familiarity with reliability and quality methodologies such as FRACAS. If you are passionate about ground-breaking technology, contributing to the national security mission, and engineering operational excellence from the ground up, Anduril is interested in speaking with you.
Product Subject Matter Expertise: Build and hold deep technical understanding of the Sentry system, hardware and software, and serve as the product operations SME for Sentry across both business lines, helping technical and non-technical stakeholders understand each other.
RCCA Cycle Design and Execution: Partner with product engineering to design, deploy, and continuously improve the system that drives root cause corrective action (RCCA) cycles on fielded Sentry towers, from failure capture through corrective action deployment.
Product Improvement Signal: Turn fleet failure data, field feedback, and reliability trends into actionable product improvement signal for engineering, directly informing the design of next generation Sentry hardware and software.
Reliability and Quality Methodology: Apply and mature failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action (FRACAS) practice for Sentry, establishing how failures are classified, tracked, and closed so reliability improvement is measurable rather than anecdotal.
Uptime Reporting and Capability Availability: Develop and deploy uptime reporting that measures and facilitates capability availability for customers, translating raw telemetry into fleet health metrics that program, product, and leadership stakeholders act on.
Observability Tooling: Proactively build and improve the observability tooling behind that reporting in partnership with hardware and software engineering, so coverage keeps pace with new Sentry variants and new site deployments.
Sentry Knowledge Base: Own, democratize, and continuously improve the Sentry knowledge base for field operations functions, so operational knowledge is codified, accurate, and usable by any level of on call support.
Self Service Enablement: Expand the self service resources, runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides that field and deployment teams rely on, so more is resolved at the point of need and the escalations that do arrive are better characterized.
Iterative Design Across Teams: Lead iterative design cycles spanning product operations, engineering, and deployment functions, building agreement on what to change next and carrying it through to implementation.
