Social and Gender Safeguard Specialist - Part Time

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, highly motivated Social and Gender Safeguard Specialist for immediate employment to support the South Coast Water Reclamation and Reuse Facility project in Christ Church, Barbados.  The successful candidate will provide field inspection, monitoring, auditing, documentation to ensure Contractor’s operations align with the project social and gender safeguards and project specific Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP) and Code of Conduct.  

This is a 24-month temporary contract position, with an expected work schedule of 8 hours per day. There is potential for the contract to be extended.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise Contractor’s day-to-day implementation of ESMP, Contractor’s ESMP (C-ESMP), and related social and gender plans.
• Monitor social safeguards on site for worker welfare, accommodation standards, labor conditions, community safety, traffic risks, security conduct.
• Identify emerging social risks.
• Support incident investigations and action tracking.
• Support implementation of the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM).
• Document community concerns; track timely resolution and feedback.
• Monitor stakeholder engagement and community outreach activities.
• Monitor community health and safety measures and traffic management plans.
• Monitor gender inclusion commitments and SH/SEA/GBV mitigation measures.
• Maintain corrective action logs and registers for incidents, complaints, violations and nonconformances
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly monitoring reports summaries to Client
